The days went by; his malady gradually left him, and only rest and quiet were now needed to restore his wasted strength and make him whole. And David returned home again to his father in Bethlehem, and to his customary life in the fields with his sheep. All that had passed during the dark hours of his sickness was blotted out of the memory of the king. |
